A day less ordinary

On Sunday, I am racing here, in the desert…

It’s a half ironman distance triathlon, and my final race for the year, after which much change will be happening here. I have been flat out for almost 2 years and I am taking 3 weeks without a plan, two of which will be spent driving around parts of South Africa I have never been to.

This year has had a few of these “Days Less Ordinary”.

The perfect day at 70.3
The struggle at IMSA
The awe of Otter

…and now, finally, a day racing in the desert in a foreign country not far away, Namibia, where a passionate triathlon community exist, who have invited me to their race. I hope to bring my best to the day, to show them what can be done when you cut out the clutter and focus on the journey.

Next week is the start of 2013 here, essentially. I am excited to share with you the recent developments behind the scene here.

In the interim, have a read on Privateer, where I wrote about a concept called #runwild.
