35 & Counting

Tomorrow, I celebrate my 35th Birthday. My wife likes to remind me that I am getting old (as a joke, I remind her that I am her old bag of bones, around till the end of time) but in reality, I feel fresh and new. I feel younger than I did in my 20’s and yet, there is this set of things that comes with growing older and ‘settling down’.

Like some unseen force, the need to ‘settle down’ is a powerful one. More so as your peer group ages with you & there is the feeling of not wanting to be left behind. These are powerful motivational factors in your life. And yet, I feel as if the greatest secrets are the ones that they didn’t tell you at school.

1. Marrying the right woman is the greatest thing you can do.
2. Growing healthy with age is the best gift you can give yourself.
3. Keeping it simple is the greatest space-creator in the world.

Life is complicated but these 3 things have taught me more than I ever expected. But then again, I have a wonderful wife, am faster than I was 10 years ago and I keep my life as simple as possible.

In order to keep things light, here are some of my favourite things of the last year, which have kept me inspired, motivated or just flat out laughing at life.

That should keep you busy for a while.
